The BAGW was formed in 1957. This was instigated by the Bristol Association as there was no university in Bath at that time. The Bath Association specifically discusses on a monthly basis topics ranging from Government questionnaires, social problems and local issues of particular interest to women. We also work with other local women's groups.

We are affiliated with The British Federation of Women Graduates (BFWG) which provides graduate women living in England, Scotland and Wales with information, support and friendship, at local, regional, national and international levels.

This is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation, without party political or religious bias, affiliated to the International Federation of University Women (IFUW) and University Women of Europe (UWE).

Conferences, meetings, networks and social events, at all levels, are open to all members.
